Author: Damian Sofsian

The southeastern tip of Florida boasts of one of the finest beaches in the US - Miami Beach. Located across Biscayne Bay, Miami Beach is one of the most popular waterfronts in the US, with thousands of travelers from around the world descending upon Miami Beach every year. Miami is easily accessible by road, rail and airways. Miami International Airport provides more than 70 airlines with nonstop flights from US locations and abroad.

Some of the most popular beaches in Miami are Bal Harbour Beach, Bill Baggs State Recreation Area, Crandon Park Beach, Hobie Beach/Windsurfer Beach, Miami Beach " ? Mid Beach, Miami Beach " ? North Beach, Oleta State Recreation Area, and South Pointe Park, amongst others. You can pick your beach from all these options, depending on the specific activity you want to enjoy.

If you want to explore Miami Beach, you can hire rental cars. Rental agencies are located at the airport. There are some agencies that even provide a shuttle service for the travelers seeking rental services. To get yourself a unique travel experience, you can choose the Amtrak train service that runs down the east coast to Miami. And if you are on a tight budget you can opt for the Greyhound bus, where the costs are considerably lower than train or airfare.

You can also choose to visit Wolfsonian, the Florida International University Museum in South Beach. The museum has an impressive collection of exhibits like photos, old books, paintings and other objects that date back to the late nineteenth century. Other interesting places to visit in Miami Beach are the Holocaust Memorial and the Everglades, a unique and fragile ecosystem that consists of marshes and swamps.

If you are a carnival enthusiast, you can participate in the Miami Carnival, an exuberant nine-day festival that begins in March every year. The nine days are full of Carnival Night concerts at the Orange Bowl and includes a Latin drag show, jazz concerts and a Miss Carnival contest. As some tourist remarked, "there's more fun to Miami than just beaches".
