I was unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised by the appealing attractions of China. To me seeing The Great Wall of China was like seeing a colossal dragon. I found it to be a most appealing attraction simply because of its architectural opulence and historical importance. I was advised by my hotel staff to see the wall in somewhat natural state from Simatai which is 110 km north-east of Beijing. On my visit to the Forbidden City I learnt that the Palace Museum is the world's largest palace complex and covers 74 hectares. I just could not believe that it houses 9999 buildings.

I was spellbound by China tourist attractions which have splendid painted decoration on the grand and deluxe halls of royal architectural wonders. On a tour of the amazing Yangtze, I witnessed the natural picturesque scenery and also experienced some ancient cultural heritage which had a touch of humanity and beauty. I quite liked the Dragon Pavilion (Long Ting) which is a regal hall found to the northwest of the city of Kaifeng. It derives its name from two dragons playing with a pearl which are carved on a plaque on the pavilion. I was amazed that they had built it on a thirteen-meter high marble terrace.
