RV Facilities in Augusta, Georgia

The next time you're planning a family vacation, don't just plan your destination. Instead, think about how you're going to get there as well. While flying from spot to spot may seem like the most convenient way to get from one place to another, there are other ways of traveling that can make the trip just as much fun as the destination. RV travel allows you to enjoy the scenery and atmosphere of the entire journey, and also gives you a built-in place to stay when you arrive where you're going.

Georgia is a great state to visit with your family. Whether you're traveling with children, or just taking an adult trip away from home, Georgia offers something for all tastes and interests. The many RV facilities Augusta, Georgia has to offer make a good base for side trips as well as exploring this historic city. Augusta is the second largest and second oldest city in the state of Georgia, and it's situated along the beautiful Savannah River. There are many different parks, recreational facilities and cultural sites around the city, and the Riverwalk offers visitors unparalleled access to the river.

One of the RV facilities Augusta has is 'The Homeplace' RV Spaces, on Mike Padgett Hwy in Augusta. Close to everything Augusta has to offer, this RV facility is a perfect central location for your Georgia visit. Another facility in the area is the Fort Gordon Recreation Area, located in nearby Appling, Georgia. This site offers 74 hook ups, with rates as low as $14 per night. There are three park hosts that work here at different shifts, as well as a full time caretaker. The facilities are also clean and spacious, with hook ups that are large enough to accommodate big rigs.

A little further away from Augusta, but still within a comfortable driving distance, is a spacious facility in the vicinity of Savannah. The Savannah South KOA (Kampground of America) offers RV campers hook ups that accommodate RV's up to 75 feet in length, with electric and water connections. Natural gas and cable TV are also available for a fee, and there is a beautiful swimming pool and free Internet access for campers' usage. This campsite is open all year round.

If you're looking for a charming and exciting place for your next family vacation, a trip to Augusta Georgia can't be beat. With its proximity to water, its historic sites and the many outdoor activities, Augusta is a perfect family destination.
